Why Glasses Matter More Than You Think
I used to treat glasses like a utility. Something you just throw on because you need to see.
That’s a mistake.
Glasses sit right in the center of your face. You get them wrong, and everything looks off. You get them right, and suddenly your entire look feels intentional.
And yeah—I learned this the hard way.
I turned a pair of oversized Celine sunglasses into my everyday prescription glasses… and I’m not exaggerating—I get compliments constantly. Like, random people constantly.
So yeah, this stuff matters.
Step 1: Know Your Face Shape
You don’t need a ruler. Just look in the mirror and be honest.
1. Oval Face (Balanced, Slightly Longer)

- Works with almost everything
- Best: rectangular, square, oversized frames
- Avoid: perfectly round frames (too soft)
👉 If you have this face, congrats. Life’s easier.
2. Round Face (Soft, Equal Width & Height)

- Goal: add structure
- Best: square, rectangular, geometric frames
- Avoid: round or small frames
👉 You need angles. Period.
3. Square Face (Strong Jaw, Wide Forehead)

- Goal: soften sharp lines
- Best: round, oval, aviators
- Avoid: boxy frames
👉 You already have structure—don’t overdo it.
4. Heart Face (Wide Forehead, Narrow Chin)

- Goal: balance top-heavy shape
- Best: aviators, thin frames, rimless
- Avoid: heavy top frames
👉 Keep it light. No chunky tops.
5. Diamond Face (Narrow Forehead & Jaw, Wide Cheekbones)

- Goal: balance cheekbones
- Best: oval, rimless, thin metal frames
- Avoid: super narrow frames
👉 You want balance, not exaggeration.
Step 2: Choose the Right Frame Material
This is where most guys mess up. They only look at shape—but material changes the entire vibe.
Acetate (Thick, Bold, Premium Look)
- Strong, durable
- More color options
- Feels high-end
👉 If you want presence—this is it.
Metal (Light, Clean, Minimal)
- Lightweight
- Subtle and refined
- Easy for everyday wear
👉 If your style is clean and mature, go metal.
Mixed Frames (Best of Both Worlds)
- Acetate top + metal bottom
- Classic but modern
- Works in both casual and formal
👉 Safe choice if you don’t want to overthink it.
Step 3: Turn Sunglasses Into Prescription Glasses (Underrated Move)
This is where you separate yourself.
Most guys go to a store, pick whatever “optical frames” are available, and call it a day.
That’s boring.
I took oversized Celine sunglasses—had them fitted with prescription lenses—and now they’re my daily glasses.
Why this works:
- Sunglasses designs are way more stylish
- Bigger frames = better face coverage
- You instantly stand out
What to look for:
- Frames not overly curved (important for lenses)
- Enough depth for prescription lenses
- Solid acetate build
👉 Quick reality check: not all sunglasses can convert cleanly. But when they can—it’s a cheat code.
Quick Cheat Sheet (Don’t Overthink It)
- Round face → go square
- Square face → go round
- Oval face → do whatever you want
- Want attention → acetate
- Want subtle → metal
- Want compliments → convert sunglasses
Simple.
My Thoughts
Most men treat glasses like a necessity.
You shouldn’t.
It’s one of the easiest upgrades you can make without losing weight, buying a new wardrobe, or changing your routine.
And if you do it right… people notice.
Immediately.
